Season of Change

‘Tis the season of Change…

The air cools, leaves on trees fall, colors subtly darken and daylight shortens. We “fall back” as we adjust our clocks and our internal compass points toward a new season’s horizons.

Change is both exciting and scary; predictability and uncertainty taking flight simultaneously. Shifts are happening all around us; but for many, the idea of shifting causes us to squirm a bit before we adjust to the newness of it all.

What if… just for today, for This start of the new season, we took our cues from Mother Nature, and began to anticipate with excitement the Change. What if we looked at the end of one cycle, as the beautiful beginning to another one? Because as we know from being the age we are right now… TODAY is the youngest we'll ever be… and grasping our ‘Todays’ and our ‘Nows’ add up to a life lived genuinely and generously.

And so, given the change of seasons, as we enter the post-Halloween-pre-Holiday season of scenery saturated in jingles & joy, shimmer & spice… I offer you an alternative lens with which to view This seasonal shift.

For Now.

Two of my favorite words are “For Now” as they can be a powerful tool to gain perspective, and remind us all that nothing stays the same.

Whether noticed by the naked eye or recognized under a more precise microscope, Life is constantly changing, moving, evolving for us all.

Lean into the Change. Lean into more of YOU. Learn to love the power of pivoting. Trust your gut. Trust your instincts. Why push back on the newness of it all ? Why try to convince your insides based on observing other people’s outsides? Instead embrace all that is new and nuanced in you and the world around you!

Because what we know about Change and Life is that when you live fully, you love freely. When you are empowered, you embrace wholeheartedly what is before you. When your insides feel better, you do better.

The Fall season taps us on the shoulder and reminds us all that Change is indeed, a Beautiful sight to behold.

Remember, day one is just day one. Make it Count! Seasons change and so do we!
