Marching Into Spring

Growing up in the Midwest, I vividly remember the anticipation of SPRING! We had waited all winter long for some signs of springtime; turning the calendar to the month of March, and Springing Forward to daylight savings time became my lighthouse during winter’s gray days. I had no idea that this Transformational Time would have such a meaningful message that reverberates throughout my life.

Now all these years later, I still feel that internal nudge to get out and celebrate the changes to come. But my adult brain is not as carefree and certain as my younger self’s counterpart. The change in my surroundings triggers hesitation and sometimes, overwhelm from my older, “wiser” self. It’s the feeling of a see-saw on the playground, where my thoughts teeter between excitement for what’s to come, and analysis paralysis for all the opportunities ahead. So I wanted to take this pause to dig a little deeper into the messages that this season can bring.

Spring is sprouting around us all, and signaling us to look inside ourselves as well as outside our windows. So how can we pivot to plant perennial patterns in our own lives? Last spring, I reflected on the saying “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb” that had been instilled in me growing up. And while I appreciate the idea that weather can be unpredictable during the month of March, I can not help but see the hints of sunshine and springtime even on the darkest days. This season is full of Promise and Possibility.

Just like the flowers that begin as seeds, then turn into buds and bulbs before blooming, let’s try our ‘green thumbs’ and get planting on ideas of renewal this season.

I am confident that if we plant the seeds today, it will help you enhance and expand your definition of spring for years to come. The truth is, we all struggle with Change; inside ourselves and in the ever-changing landscape around us. The winters can be cold and lonely, a dark place to exist. But what if we focus on the Change and the Chance to renew? How could we use hibernation to rediscover our soul and strength to refocus on what comes Next?

Remember every winter eventually and inevitably becomes spring. We know without a doubt that winters do end. Some days it may not seem that way, but it is one truth we can rely on. So maybe the secret to surviving is to sink into the cold, quiet days of winter; allowing ourselves to rebuild and regain the energy and the tenacity to rise again. Understanding that nothing lasts and life is about accepting impermanence can empower us to hold these pivotal times as precious gifts. Change your choices, change the season, and change the game of life for yourself. Changing your outlook can truly change the outcome.

Last month, my newsletter gave you all the opportunity for a Do-Over. Today is another invitation to come out of the winter days and start Marching into the Promise and Possibilities of Spring. Seasons change. Clocks move ahead. Bursts of colorful transformation fill the air. Our days are getting longer and sunlight is beckoning us to maximize the light. It’s not just daylight that is extended, it is the vast opportunities that longer days can bring and the possibilities to be uncovered. Shifts are probable AND possible for each and every one of us. So here it is… that little nudge you needed to get out and get moving toward the Momentum and the Moments that will reshape and redefine this season for you.

Changing Your Outlook can truly Change the Outcome.

Grateful to be Marching toward the Spring season together!

Love this Michelle! I have been playing with the adult versions of do-overs myself lately, too, and using this time to reset and refocus. Great graphics and messaging! I’m a fan! Hope all else is well with you!
